Johnny Michael "Goody" Goodman

Johnny Michael “Goody” Goodman died Saturday, Aug. 3,, 2002, in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was 54.

Mr. Goodman was born Oct. 8, 1947, in Clovis, N.M., to Johnny Mack and Juanita Goodman. He grew up in Clovis and Grants, N.M. He attended the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell and Eastern New Mexico University in Portales.

He married Gayle Hodson in September 1969. They later divorced.

Mr. Goodman moved to Glenwood Springs in 1969, and worked as a driver for United Parcel Service for 25 years.

He retired at 50 and spent his remaining years working part-time on the security force for Aspen Glen, vacationing and spending time with his family.

Mr. Goodman is survived by a sister, Jamie Goodman of Mesa, Ariz.; a son, Brody Goodman of Superior; a daughter, Layne Goodman Owens of Gilbert, Ariz.; and a granddaughter, Ayla Celeste Goodman of Superior.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the home of Chere and Elwyn Schrock, 0899 No Name Lane, Glenwood Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85104, or to the American Cancer Society.
