Jordan Michael Dorsey

Jordan Michael Dorsey of Silt died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, in Ely, Nev. He was 18.

He was born June 27, 1984, in Vail to Joelle Smith and Michael Dorsey. He grew up in Silverthorne.

His chief interests in life were flying and airplanes, and he earned a pilot’s license. He was also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

Earlier this year, he said, “When I am flying, everything is right with the world.”

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Robert Dorsey, in 1984.

Mr. Dorsey is survived by his parents, Michale and Joelle Smith Dorsey of Silt; by a brother, Taylor Dorsey, 14, of Silt; by grandparents Robert H. and Doris M. Smith Jr. of Harrisburg, Pa., and Lowell and Lenore Henry of Denver; by aunts and uncles Robert H. and Margaret Smith III of Silverthorne, Lianne and Scott Fickel of New Cumberland, Pa., Gerry and Bunny Dorsey of Heeney, and Susan Dorsey of Denver; and by a cousin, Cameron Fickel of New Cumberland, Pa.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, at the Rifle Funeral Home, 1400 Access Road, Rifle, with the Rev. Jim Legg officiating.

Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
