Josanna Morningstar Reece

Josanna Morningstar Reece, born Aug. 14, 1982, at home in El Jebel, died New Year’s Eve in a crash on Highway 133.She worked for the Aspen Skiing Co. and Nordic Gardens in the summer. She was an original student at the Mountain Sage School of Carbondale and graduated from Yampah Mountain High School in Glenwood Springs in 2002. Josanna loved to ski and garden, and she adored the many pets she rescued. She is survived by her husband, Todd Reece of Redstone; her father, Douglas Shockley of Ridgeway; mother and step-father Janelle Honer and Stephen Shaffer of Kurtistown, Hawaii; a brother, Joseph Shockley of Hollywood, Fla.; her hanai sisters Meadowsweet Lenk of Paonia and Keeley Frye of Aspen; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.Services will be Friday, Jan. 7 at the Carbondale Methodist Church, 385 S. Second St., Carbondale. Colorado Animal Rescue, 2801 County Road 114, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, is accepting donations in lieu of flowers.
