Journey Home Animal Care Center hosts adoption event at Stoneyard Distillery
Nibble snacks, sip drinks and pet pups at a Journey Home Animal Care Center adoption event at Stoneyard Distillery on Friday.
From 2-5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, select adoptable dogs from Journey Home Animal Care Center will be at Stoneyard Distillery Tasting Room, 823 Grand Ave. Suite 100, Glenwood Springs.
For those interested in adopting, the event is an opportunity to meet dogs who do well in busy public environments, as well as some pups who may usually be overlooked.
“A lot of the cases with these events, when we bring a dog, it’s one that has been with us for a while and maybe hasn’t been looked at as a possible pet by some people for one reason or another,” Hattie Rensberry, marketing and communications manager at Journey Home Animal Care Center, said. “It’s a great way for people to meet some of our longer stays, if they are the ones that we bring up.”
Loca, a medium sized female pitbull terrier, is one of Journey Home Animal Care Center’s longer stays. She’s also Rensberry’s personal favorite.
“(Loca) just has the best little smile,” Rensberry said. “She’s so happy and she’s got a wonderful personality.”
Friday’s event is also an opportunity for visitors to meet volunteers and staff and explore other ways to support Journey Home Animal Care Center, 1500 Prefontaine Ave., Rifle.
“There’s a bunch of ways that people can support our center…they can keep coming to our events and supporting us in that way,” Rensberry said. “They can make donations of pet food, things off of our animal wish lists or cash, and they can visit our website to learn more about opportunities for volunteering and fostering.”
