Karen Lynn Barnes, 61, of Glenwood Springs, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction.
She was born Oct. 1, 1947 in Glenwood Springs to Donald Lee Smith and Patricia (Morgon) Smith.
Karen graduated from Glenwood Springs High School and married Duane Barnes on Oct. 14, 1967 in Glenwood Springs.
Karen was an artist. She loved crafts and making jewelry, gardening and shopping.
She spent 20 years in Alaska before coming to Glenwood to be with her sister. Karen is survived by her sister Kristie Krivickas and her niece Eva Krivickas and Eva’s children, Emily (5), and James (17 months).
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 26, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs, with Father Cliff McMillan officiating. An inurnment will follow at Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs.
