Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Katherine (Kay) Mann was born in Los Angeles on March 27, 1924. She died peacefully on Oct. 19, 2009, with her loved ones at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor, who passed away in February 1977.

Kay was a 55-year resident of Manhattan Beach. She was a 29-year Los Angeles City School District employee, retiring in 1983. Following her retirement she spent many happy years at her second home in Lake Elsinore or traveling. Her family was the brightest spot in her life.

She is survived by her son Robert (Patti) Mann of Carbondale, CO, daughter Janet (William) Hedderich of Hawthorne, grandsons Jon Angelet of Manhattan Beach and Robert W. Mann of Denver, granddaughters Michelle Davis of Long Beach and Laura Mann of Denver, great grandsons Blaize Angelet (USAF Academy) and Jaycob Mann of Golden, great granddaughters Summer and Tallulah Angelet of Hermosa Beach, Kayley and Stephanie Davis of Long Beach, Ashley Mann of Golden.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at 11 a.m. at White and Day Chapel, 3215 Sepulveda Blvd, Manhattan Beach.
