Katherine Vandenberg
Katherine Vandenberg of Glenwood Springs died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at her home. She was 93.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date through the Dave Pederson Funeral Home in Rockford, Mich.
Mrs. Vandenberg lived in Michigan before moving to Glenwood Springs in 1995 to be near her daughter.
She married Philip Vandenberg.
She worked as the secretary and bookkeeper for the family business, Vans Plumbing and Heating in Cedar Springs, Mich.
Mrs. Vandenberg was a stay-at-home mom and loved being involved with her children’s activities, serving as a Cub Scout den mother and Campfire Girls leader. She and her husband were active in Boy Scouts.
The couple was active in the formation of Grace Community Church in Belmont, Mich., in the 1950s.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Vandenberg; by five brothers and one sister; and by 23 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Mrs. Vandenberg is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Conrad Lien of Glenwood Springs; by sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Barbara Vandenberg of Cedar Springs, Mich., and Donald and Linda Vandenberg of Howard City, Mich.; by seven grandchildren and their spouses; by 13 great-grandchildren; and by one sister-in-law.
Farnum-Holt Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
