KDNK in tune with community

Dear Editor,

Summer is in full swing and KDNK is swinging right along with it! Being a community radio station requires responding to the needs of the Roaring Fork Valley. Mostly, it requires much volunteer help from so many. KDNK would like to take this opportunity to thank the many love slaves of our little valley that help make KDNK what it is!

From the constant reporting and updating during a crisis like the Coal Seam Fire to great fun events like the Battle of the Bands, KDNK is there! Many thanks to Biff and Dan Sadowsky, coordinators of the BOB; Chris, their fine roadie; Harley and the sound crew; Aspen Daily News; Aspen Times; The Valley Journal; Patty Stranahan; Lorrie Wright; Alex Halperin; Chris Bank; The Carbondale Rotary; and all the musicians who gave their time and talent and all the businesses that donated great items for our Silent Auction.

The KDNK Sports Swap went well and KDNK plans to do this every year. Thanks to Valerie Gilliam and the Sopris Nordic Council, Cody Lyon, Wick Moses, Social, Doug Tucker, Ben Hendrix, John Stroud, Kathy Goudy, Mark Taylor, Brooke Weinert, Leslie Johnson, Lisa Linden, Malcolm McMichael, Pat Johnson, Kathy Methfessel, Dawn Greer, Glen Byron, Annemarie Zanca, Patty Schenck, Mary Suma, Liz Phillips and the Basalt Chamber, as well as all who donated items.

The Coal Seam Fire came as a surprise and KDNK will continue to update our listeners on fire danger and activity. Thank you so much to Amy Marsh, Mary Suma, Gavin Sutherland, Doug Tucker and Marilyn Gleason, as well as all the people involved in getting this fire under control. KDNK wishes a safe summer to all our supporters and look forward to Bearfoot Bluegrass on July 20!

Thanks again!

Sincerely,

Amy Kimberly
