Kenneth Richard McCall

Kenneth Richard McCall passed away May 17, 2006, at his home. He was 77 years old.Kenneth was born Sept. 7, 1928, in La Junta. He married Ruby Jean Tarwater Feb. 10, 1946, in Syracuse, Kan. For the first few years of their marriage, they drove trucks together. When they began their family, they owned and operated a gas station and fruit stand in Limon. They also owned and operated Outdoor Pleasure Equipment at the Basalt Trading Center and were Polaris dealers. He also drove for Morrison Knudson in Carbondale.Kenneth was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He loved the outdoors and fishing. He also loved spending time with his family.He is survived by children Linda Mullins, of Camdenton, Mo., Debbie (Bill) Porter, of Hotchkiss, Pam Umback, of New Castle, and Brian (Jodie) McCall, of Milton, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Episcopal Church in New Castle. Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery outside of New Castle. Cochran Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
