Kenny Ash

Kenny Ash passed away Nov. 1, 2008, of natural causes. He was born April 2, 1927, in Williamsville, Mo., to Aaron Patrick and Laurie Blanche Ash. His mother moved Kenny and his younger brother, Jim, to Grand Junction. Kenny joined the Merchant Marines in 1943. After serving his country, he returned and married Rosa Irene Johnson. They had two daughters. Kenny and Irene were married 63 years.Kenny was employed by Public Service Co. of Colorado (Xcel Energy) for 38 years. He belonged to the Order of the Elks, The Masonic Temple and was very active in the Lions Club. He enjoyed golfing and snowmobiling and was a longtime resident of Rifle and Grand Junction.He is survived by daughters Pam Leuallen and Karen Avila; brother Jim Ash; stepfather Arthur Keas; stepbrothers Dean and Dennis Keas; grandchildren Nathan Leuallen, Chandra Sanderson and Kalea Leuallen; and nine great-grandchildren.Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Laurie; his wife; and grandson Jeremy. A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Mark Opstein of Faith Fellowship Church in Rifle officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O.
