GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – It’s not just the halibut, the King is here as well.

After a summer run in Alaska, Kaleb Walker of Kaleb’s Katch now has halibut and king salmon at his booth at the Glenwood Springs Farmers Market. Enjoy the fantastic taste of sustainably caught wild salmon and hear Walker’s wonderful stories without leaving the county.

The first of the Green River melons are here, too. To find the tasty treats, follow your nose to the Melon Man at the Mesa Forge and Farm stand, and pick out the watermelon and cantaloupe that you have been dreaming of all summer.

Farmer Dave’s booth has incredible beef steaks for grilling. Complete your summer dinner with a fine selection of greens and summer squash from Peach Valley CSA, and dessert peaches from Forte Farms. You’ll finish your meal quite satisfied.

A unique taste for the pasta palate can be found at The Pasta Girl’s Papardelle’s Pasta canopy, along with a selection of frozen ravioli dinners.

New potatoes can be found next to the onions under the DeVries canopy, along with the fresh-roasting chilis.

Under the BBQ canopy, beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches are made to order.

As shoppers wander through the booths, they may hear the old-timey sounds of the Farmhand String Band. They’ll be playing some new instruments. Have you seen or heard the melodica?

The market is open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Rite-Aid parking lot in the 1500 block of Grand Avenue.
