Kudos to KMTS for fire coverage

Dear Editor,

It was a fairly normal Saturday in Rifle when we started hearing the first reports of the Coal Seam Fire erupting in our neighboring town of Glenwood. It was very overwhelming worrying about all our fellow neighbors and automatically we turned on the television and radio to see if they could get more details.

I must commend KMTS and their reporters for the excellent job they did bringing us the updates we so needed. Not once did they misreport information and they were upfront if they were unsure of anything, unlike the television stations out of Denver. Even with reporters live from downtown Glenwood Springs, the television stations did not get the story right. People from all over the country heard reports that not only did so many people lose their homes, but that the Glenwood Springs Mall, Two Rivers Chevrolet, the Community Center and the transportation department were all engulfed in flames.

I learned fast to keep my ear tuned only to KMTS to hear the truth, and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you, dear people, for providing only the facts.

Sincerely,

Angie Ridgeway
