Lance Douglas Edinger

Lance Douglas Edinger, 55, of Rifle, passed away March 19, 2006, after an automobile accident in DeBeque Canyon. Lance was born March 13, 1951, in Kennan, Wis., to David Hobson and Hazel (Moline) Edinger. He spent his childhood in Kennan and graduated from high school in Phillips, Wisconsin. Lance lived in Rifle for seven years and previously lived in Meeker. He was previously married to Vicky Edinger. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness Church in Rifle. He was a guide, an outfitter and a general contractor. Lance loved country and classic rock music. He began his music career in the band “Midnight Blue,” as the lead singer and playing drums. He also played the acoustic 12-string guitar, and during his short life had written more than 100 songs. More recently, he solo performed at the Creek Bend in Rifle.Survivors include son Wyatt (Michelle) Edinger, of New Castle; brothers Duane Edinger, of Meeker, James Edinger, of Kennan, David Edinger and Darry Edinger, of New Auburn, Wis., Forest Edinger, of Milwaukee, and Harry Edinger, of Woodruff, Wis.; sisters Yvonne Shield, of Merrill, Wis., Beryl Purdum, of Meeker, and Bonnie Belan, of Milwaukee; and one grandchild.Lance was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Watland.There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday at Highland Elementary School in Rifle.Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin Mortuary.
