Lance Duane Smith, 49, died Feb. 17, 2007, of a heart attack while skiing with his sons and nephew near Cedar City, Utah. He was born Dec. 9, 1957, in Glenwood Springs to George Edison and Helena Belle (Sievers) Smith. He lived in Glenwood Springs until 1993, working at Aspen Dairy and Bogue Construction.He was self-employed in the trucking business in St. George, Utah. He is survived by his wife, Julie; children Christy, Brandon, Angela, Stephanie (Chad) McMullin, Jeremy, Shane and Chad; grandchildren Amy and Grady McMullin; twin sister Lori Hibbard of Herriman, Utah; sisters Cheryl Sharp-Minion of Herriman, Marsha Wagner and Barbara Riley of Glenwood Springs, and Susan Browning of Washington, Utah; brothers Dennis Smith of Salt Lake City, Brad Smith of Cortez and George V. Smith of Glendale, Ariz.He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Kay Gilmore-Duff, and his parents.Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 24, at Metcalf Mortuary in St. George.
