Lane to speak on weeds in Carbondale and Silt

The Garfield County Weed Advisory Board, the Mt. Sopris Conservation District, the Natural Resources Conservation District, and the Pitkin County Weed Advisory Board present Colorado’s Weed Management Strategy, a presentation by Eric Lane, Colorado State Weed Coordinator, Monday, April 1, at Carbondale Town Hall, from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 2, at the Silt Fire Station from 7-9 p.m.

Mr. Lane will review the recently completed “Colorado’s Strategic Plan to Stop the Spread of Noxious Weeds.” He has been Colorado’s weed coordinator since 1996.

Also speaking will be Dennis Davidson, Natural Resources Conservation Service in how to fill out the Weed Cost-share form; Chonnie Bliss, Pitkin County Weed Advisory Board, and Steve Anthony, Garfield County Vegetation Management, on weeds of the Roaring Fork Valley.
