Laverne Leo Jarosz

Former longtime Glenwood resident Vern Jarosz, 83, passed away Nov. 13, 2007, in Colorado Springs.Vern was born January 4, 1924, in Brule, Neb., to Stanley and Pauline Jarosz.He proudly served as a U.S. Marine in World War II.He married Mary B. Comer Dec. 26, 1942. Vern enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt when he lived in the Roaring Fork Valley, and loved to play golf after his retirement from Mountain Bell.Vern is survived by his wife of 64 years; sons Mike (Sherilyn), Pat (Cheryl), and Dan (Cindy); daughter Jackie; grandchildren Tony, Nicole, Kristine, Kim, Chelsea and Sean; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at Circle Drive Baptist Church, 801 North Circle Dr. in Colorado Springs. Following the service, committal and military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
