Staff Report

The public is invited to an educational program on natural gas pipelines at the monthly Garfield County Energy Advisory Board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rifle Branch Library.

Garfield County is crisscrossed with natural gas pipelines moving hydrocarbons from the wellhead to market and ultimately to our homes. Joe Molloy with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission will discuss pipeline safety regulations and oversight procedures utilized to minimize public and environmental safety risks from natural gas pipelines.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m., and dinner is provided for all attendees.

The Energy Advisory Board is a forum for the public, oil and gas industry, landowners and local government to engage in proactive communication and actions meant to encourage responsible and balanced development of energy resources in Garfield County.
