Lela Hazel Dodds-Scott

Lela Hazel Dodds-Scott of Glenwood Springs died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, after a long illness. She was 81.A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, at the Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge, 51939 Highway 6 & 24 in Glenwood Springs, followed by a luncheon.Mrs. Dodds-Scott was born July 14, 1922, in Dallas, Texas, to Hanna Lee Butler and W.A. McCoy. She graduated from high school at Mineral Wells, Texas, in 1940.She married William Dodds-Scott on May 1, 1977.Mrs. Dodds-Scott worked as a food server at several restaurants, and at the U.S. Post Office handling center in West Glenwood.She loved bingo, fishing and being with people, particularly her children and grandchildren.Mrs. Dodds-Scott is survived by her husband, Bill Dodds-Scott of Glenwood Springs; by sons and daughters-in-law Dan and Marilyn Ferguson of Centennial, Al and Jeanie Ferguson of Silt, and Walt and Cathy Ferguson of Elizabeth; by daughter and son-in-law Anna and Dean Fortik of Meeker; by sister-in-law Ruth Zemlock of Glenwood Springs; and by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.Farnum-Holt Funeral Home of Glenwood Springs is in charge of arrangements.
