Leon B. RoDee
Leon B. RoDee, of Carbondale, passed away Nov. 10, 2007.Leon was born July 4, 1927, in Wellsville, N.Y., to Anna (Lewis) and Bert RoDee. He graduated from Troupsburg Central High School and Elmira College.Leon married Annette Arnett in 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Addison, N.Y.Leon was a top salesman in real estate. He and Annette purchased and restored older homes, making them showplaces.Leon moved to Carbondale in 1997 to be near his sister. He loved the Colorado mountains, the cowboy life, blue skies and life in general. He was very happy in Colorado.He was an intelligent man and could speak on many interesting subjects. He enjoyed reading, stage plays, farming, cattle and horses, rodeos and country music.He will be greatly missed.Leon is survived by son Christopher (Louise) RoDee of Virginia; sister Juanita (Bert) Close of Carbondale; sister-in-law Betty Lou Arnett of Hammondsport, N.Y.; brother-in-law David (Mae) Arnett of Camillus, N.Y.; nephews Gregory Close of New Castle, Steven, Jeff and Dakota Close, Dan, Taylor and Zack Close, and niece Emma Close, all of Glenwood Springs; grandchildren Patrick, Olivia and Diane; grandnieces Nicki and Danielle; special friends Clair and Beverly Lewis, Alma and Zach Finelli, Tony and Mary Ann Dreslin, Cathy Close, Helen Doxtater, Anna Fredricks and Jerilyn Nieslanik.He was preceded in death by his wife; nephew Jamie Close; and many dear friends.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs.
