Let’s see your holiday home lighting photos

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – The Post Independent invites all residents who have put up festive holiday lighting to enter their house in a weekly photo contest.

“Each week, for the next three weeks, readers can submit photos of their holiday decorated home and to help spread holiday cheer, we will select one winner each week to publish in the paper. We will share the best holiday decorated home photo with our community by printing it each Monday, over the next three Mondays,” said Stephanie Schafer, publisher of the Post Independent.

The contest is open to all residents of Garfield County, from Carbondale to Parachute.

“As the winners are chosen, a donation to the LIFT-UP food bank will be made in honor of these three winning families, for sharing their festive holiday spirits,” Schafer said.

The holiday lighting contest rules are simple.

• Submit a photo of your home’s decorated exterior, along with your name, street address, city, and a daytime phone number.

• Photos must be high resolution, large files of 1 MB or larger. (Make sure your email program doesn’t automatically downsize the attachment.)

• All photos submitted by noon on Friday will be considered for publication in the following Monday’s paper. Contest deadlines will be noon on Friday, Dec. 7, 14 and 21.

• Send photos and your info to: news@postindependent.com.

“We have already seen many beautiful home displays,” sad Schafer. “Publishing the best displays will give everyone a chance to drive by and enjoy the lights, too.”
