Letter to the editor
Dear Editor,Thanks to John Herbst for taking the time to watch Dr. Griffin’s video. Unfortunately, I find his assessment disingenuous, prejudicial, inaccurate, dishonest and full of denial. A lifetime of indoctrination is not easily transformed. Change is difficult and takes work. I focus my attention in this letter on one aspect of Dr. Griffin’s presentation. It is the overwhelming evidence of a controlled demolition of Building 7, a 47-story steel skyscraper, that plunged, with a smooth vertical motion, into its footprint, at 5:20 p.m. Sept. 11, 2001, in 6.5 seconds. Free-fall time from Building 7’s roof is 5.96 seconds. Americans may not realize that no steel-structure, high-rise building has ever collapsed from fire in the history of civil engineering, either before or after 9/11. The fires in Building 7 were limited to isolated regions of two floors. To bring this building down into its own footprint required all 58 perimeter columns and 25 core columns be destroyed simultaneously.FEMA, entrusted to investigate the collapse, could not figure it out. There was no real investigation. The structural steel was removed from the site and shipped to India and China. There was no excuse for the rapid, undocumented excavation of the site. No victims were believed to be buried there. Adjacent roads could be cleared without disturbing it.Building 7 likely contained evidence pertinent to an investigation of the crime perpetrated on 9/11. The new owner of the building (and Towers 1 and 2), Larry Silverstein, claims a decision was made to “pull-it,” meaning a controlled demolition.Dan Rather blurted out, “Boy, that looks just like a controlled demolition.”Marvin Bush, the president’s brother, and their cousin Bert Walker, were the principals in the company in charge World Trade Center security. Thanks to http://tinyurl.com/bbxdv for much of the above synopsis. Two videos about this subject will be shown, ” Painful Deceptions: an Analysis of the September 11 Attack” at noon today; and “9/11: The Great Illusion” at noon, Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Glenwood Library.Steve CampbellGlenwood Springs
