LIFT-UP beneficiary of Whole Foods’ Community Giving Day

The new Roaring Fork Whole Foods Market at Willits Town Center in Basalt has named LIFT-UP as the recipient of its first Community Giving Day. Five percent of all net sales for Wednesday, Sept. 12, will be donated to LIFT-UP, which operates seven food pantries in the local region. Whole Foods Markets conduct one Community Giving Day each quarter.

This year, LIFT-UP has served an average of more than 1,800 people per month at their food pantries, and has distributed more than 28,000 bags of food to families in need. The Extended Table Soup Kitchen is serving nearly 1,200 meals per month, about 60 people each night.
