Lions Club seeks new members

The New Castle Lions Club invites potential members to its annual membership dinner from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at the New Castle Community Center.The meeting gives overview of the projects the Lions support. Those who attend can win door prizes.The New Castle Lions are involved in a variety of community projects throughout the year, including the New Castle Health Fair, the New Castle Schools Booster Club Carnival, the Coal Country Feud, the New Castle/Silt Lions Club Golf Tournament and the New Castle Thanksgiving Dinner.Members of the Lions Club are busy with all the above projects, plus building New Castle bus stops as well as the national support for service to the blind and visually impaired. The next few months will prove busy for local volunteers.The New Castle Lions Club was chartered in 1999, and has 33 members.”The great relationships that have developed over the years make all of us look forward to joining together to produce the events,” said Judy Shaffer, past president and charter president. “There are projects that couples can get involved in, strengthening their relationships and our Lions Club, too.”To make a reservation for the membership dinner, call Ellen Holsan at 876-0602.
