Literacy program seeks tutors for growing waiting list of students

Literacy Outreach, a sponsored program of Colorado Mountain College, needs your help to teach basic literacy skills including reading, writing and English as a Second Language.The program has a growing waiting list of people who are eager to learn.Volunteers do not need to speak Spanish or have prior teaching experience. They require only a desire to help, the ability to read and speak English and the willingness to share two hours of time a week to work one-on-one with an adult.Attend just one of following informational sessions to learn more:-Glenwood Springs, Sept. 4 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library.-Carbondale, Sept. 12 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Gordon Cooper Library, 54 S. 4th St., -Rifle, on Sept. 5 from noon to 1 p.m., Rifle Library.Three training sessions will follow.
