It’s time to recycle your outdated Dex phone book.
Area residents can use the following recycling options:
City of Glenwood Springs, Recycling Center, 1015 School St. (open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays) City of Glenwood Springs, South Canyon Landfill, 1205 County Road 134
Basalt Recycling Center, Old Highway 82, Basalt
Pitkin County Landfill, Highway 82/Jack Gredig, mile marker 32, Aspen
Rio-Grand Recycling, Rio Grand Place, Aspen
Starting Oct. 30, West Garfield County Landfill will be closed Sundays. Winter hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The town of Silt Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Fall Festival at 1 p.m. Saturday. Some of the fun activities scheduled for that day are a hayride, face painting, pumpkin decorating and more.

After a local District Court judge issued what amounts to an eviction notice Monday, former Aspen mayoral candidate Lee Mulcahy said he’s giving up his standoff with the local housing authority and leaving town.
