SILT ” One man died and another was injured after a one-vehicle rollover north of Silt Tuesday night.
Garfield County coroner’s office confirmed that the passenger who died in the rollover accident is David Fautsko, 29.
The name of the driver has not yet been released.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, a 1995 Toyota Tacoma went off the right side of County Road 214 north of Silt around 11 p.m. The truck traveled down an embankment, struck a fence, struck the embankment and rolled onto its top. The front passenger was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained injuries and was transported to the Grand River Medical Clinic, the CSP said.
Investigators determined the truck was traveling north although it had come to rest facing west. They were unsure if the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
A lane violation is considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, the CSP said in a news release.
