New Castle rancher Bill Porter, 55, died on Thursday, June 8, in an accident. Garfield County Sheriff Lou Vallario said Porter was reportedly killed when a bulldozer he was driving on his property rolled and crushed him. The bulldozer was moving on a steep hill and tipped over, he said. No other information on Porter’s death was available Friday. Service information and a full obituary will appear later.Brawl leads to arrestsA fight at Sayre Park involving a crowd of about 30 people left one man unconscious late Wednesday night. Police were advised of a fight in progress at Sayre Park about 10 p.m. Wednesday. According to the police report, there were numerous people standing in the park and on North Hyland Park Drive.Police Chief Terry Wilson said there were likely only two people fighting amid a large crowd of people. Some of the people directed officers to a man unconscious on the pavement, who was allegedly underage and intoxicated. Boyd Andrew Milhorn, 18, was summonsed for illegal underage consumption or possession of alcohol. Police located another intoxicated underage man who had bloody knuckles. Tyler James George, 20, allegedly admitted to punching Milhorn during the fight. George was summonsed for assault and illegal underage consumption of alcohol.
