Garfield County will be offering free H1N1 vaccinations at the Crystal River Elementary School Cafeteria in Carbondale on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 3-7 p.m. The vaccine will be available to anyone.

It is important to remember that children 9 years and younger need two doses of the H1N1 vaccine. For more information, call Public Health at (970) 625-5200.

The Garfield County Democratic Party will host the fifth annual Martin Luther King Memorial Dinner at the Hotel Colorado on Monday, Jan. 18, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Pat Waak, the chairman of the Colorado Democratic Party, will be the featured speaker.

Republican Dan Maes, a candidate for governor, will be in Rifle on Wednesday, Jan. 13. Maes will be speaking at the Rifle Republican monthly luncheon, at noon at Fiesta Guadalajara.
