RIFLE, Colorado – The Colorado Department of Transportation will close some of the main Rifle and West Rifle I-70 on- and off-ramps today and for two days next week for paving.
The project will mill off the top layer of asphalt and resurface the ramps, which are heavily cracked and have pot holes after the winter and spring season.
The paving will require full ramp closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Locations may change somewhat, depending upon how the milling and paving work goes. Motorists should watch for variable message signs for updates.
Alternate entrances and exits for I-70 would be at Silt or West Rifle.
This is the planned ramp closure schedule:
Today: Main Rifle (exit 90), westbound off-ramp and westbound on-ramp,
Tuesday, Sept. 5: Main Rifle westbound on-ramp (if not fully completed today) and West Rifle (exit 87) westbound off-ramp,
Wednesday, Sept. 6: West Rifle, eastbound on-ramp.
