RIFLE, Colorado – The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department released information this week on a Mesa County resident who has recently registered in Garfield County as a sexual predator.

Carl Vincent “Skeeter” Avery, 47, registered in Garfield County because he is working for a gas industry company and living part-time in Parachute.

He has two prior convictions for sexual assault on a child in 1998 and 2000 in Mesa County and one prior conviction for attempted sexual assault in 2000 in Garfield County, according to the sheriff’s department.

Avery has also been convicted of assault, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, theft, driving under revocation and several restraining order violations.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – The city of Glenwood Springs will use the following prioritized list for snow plowing and snow removal for the upcoming winter season.

1. Emergency routes, school bus routes, and main traffic areas such as West Midland Avenue, Midland Avenue to Glenwood Park, South Grand Avenue, Pitkin Avenue, Blake Avenue and Donegan Road.

2. Downtown commercial areas.

3. Steep streets such as Cedar Crest area, Vista Drive, Sunny Acres, Traver Trail, the North Glenwood area, the Red Mountain area, and steep streets east of Grand Avenue.

4. All remaining streets in low or flat areas.

Grand Avenue and Highway 6 are plowed by the Colorado Department of Transportation.
