GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – There will be a special meeting of the Roaring Fork School District Re-1 Board of Education at 11 a.m. today for the purpose of considering Re-1 Superintendent Judy Haptonstall’s contract.

The meeting is to take place at the Re-1 District Office, 1405 Grand Ave., in Glenwood Springs, and will include a time for public comment at the beginning of the meeting.

After the public session, the school board intends to meet in executive session for a discussion and a conference with the school district’s attorney.

An effort is under way to help a resident and local Iraqi war veteran who spent 28 months in Iraq and who suffers the effects not only of the war, but the lingering pain from a head injury caused by an IED explosion.

Requested is cards and letters, gift certificates, other tokens of love to be delivered to him and his five children on Nov. 19.
