GLENWOOD SPRINGS – The engineering team planning for the replacement or repair of the Grand Avenue Bridge will host an open house today to inform the public and collect comments on the project. Those interested can drop in any time to have one-on-one and small group conversations with representatives from the Colorado Department of Transportation and the project consultant, Jacobs Engineering. The open house is set for 4:30 – 7 p.m. today at the Glenwood Springs Community Center, 100 Wulfsohn Road.

Those with questions or concerns about the project may also contact Joshua Cullen, CDOT project manager, at 384-3379 or Joshua.Cullen@dot.state.co.us.

Garfield County Manager Ed Green will be on the job for another year, at least, at a salary of approximately $133,000, following action by the Garfield Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on Monday.

The BOCC approved an “engagement of services contract” for Green, that lays out his duties and his responsibilities, including the requirement that he report to the BOCC directly.

The only other county employee who reports directly to the BOCC is County Attorney Andrew Gorgey, whose job is subject to a similar contract.
