A gas well drilling rig belonging to the Bill Barrett Corp. is being moved from Utah to Dry Hollow south of Silt, according Mary Lou Wilson, coordinator of the Community Counts industry information service.

The move, which was to have started Wednesday, is expected to take about one week.

The rig will be hauled to the drilling site using County Road 315 (Mamm Creek Road), CR 336 (Jenkins Cutoff), CR 336, CR 331 (Dry Hollow Road), and CR 326 (Chipperfield Lane).

The West Garfield County Landfill will be closed today and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. The landfill will re-open on Saturday, Nov. 26.
