CARBONDALE, Colorado – Police here arrested a 16-year-old male outside one of the town’s medical marijuana dispensaries late Tuesday night after a burglar alarm sounded at the business.

According to Carbondale Police Chief Gene Schilling, police were called to the Medical Marijuana Center of Colorado, at 60 N. Third St., around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in response to the alarm.

Two Carbondale police officers, along with three Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies and a Colorado State Patrol trooper, arrived on scene a short time later.

The suspect was seen exiting the rear of the building. He was contacted and found to be in possession of equipment from the dispensary, but no marijuana products, Schilling said.

The teen, who gave a rural Carbondale address, was arrested without incident on felony burglary and criminal mischief charges. He was released to his father.
