PARACHUTE, Colorado – The fire that consumed a double-wide trailer in the Pioneer Mobile Home Court early Monday was caused by an electrical failure, according to Grand Valley Fire Chief David Blair.

Blair said an investigation on Tuesday by Jerry Means, arson agent for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, revealed that the fire started under the back porch of the trailer, and was caused by an electrical short in the heat tape that was wrapped around the water line serving the trailer.
