Wild Blue Country, one of ten performing groups comprising the 76-member United States Air Force Academy Band, will perform a free concert at 7 tonight at Two Rivers Park.

Although admission is free, tickets are required and are available at the Post Independent, KMTS and The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association. Please contact the Glenwood Springs Chamber at 945-6589.

The Cruisers in Carbondale invite anyone and everyone with a cruiser bike to meet at the Sopris Park stage from 9-10 p.m. tonight and all subsequent nights of the full moon, to cruise the streets and paths of Carbondale.



The Garfield County Commissioners approved the funding recommendations given to them by the Garfield County Human Services Grant Allocation Committee on Aug. 15.

The committee received proposals from 34 applicants totaling $496,650, and evaluated each proposal by various criteria, with its main focus on direct fundamental services to the greatest number of Garfield County citizens. A total of $350,188 was allocated to county nonprofit agencies.



A percentage of the Garfield County sales tax comprises the $350,188 used to fund the grant allocations to local nonprofit agencies.

The Basalt Regional Heritage Society and the Colorado Quilting Council have canceled the Quilt History Day, which was scheduled for Saturday at Basalt Town Hall.

Tarco Inc. is installing a new sewer line up Four Mile Road this summer. Work should be completed in October. During construction, one-way traffic can be expected during hours of operation, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
