Literacy Outreach and the Garfield County public libraries are sponsoring an essay contest celebrating Literacy Awareness month in September.

This year’s essay topic is “How reading makes you a better citizen.” Everyone is welcome to participate and prizes will be awarded for the best responses received from both adults and children.

The best responses will be read aloud at the awards ceremony on Sept. 30 at Colorado Mountain College’s Glenwood Center.

Entry forms can be picked up at your local library or by contacting Literacy Outreach office at 945-5282. Entries are due Sept. 15.
