The National Mud Bog and Monster Showdown is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Garfield County Fairgrounds in Rifle. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.Stock trucks and “tuff” trucks must preregister at Napa Auto Parts in Rifle.Advance tickets will be sold at City Markets in Rifle, Glenwood Springs and New Castle through Friday, Sept.23.

Victims of Hurricane Katrina arriving in the Roaring Fork Valley can find the assistance they need by calling Roaring Fork Valley Information and Assistance or “VIA” – a telephone helpline provided by the Aspen Valley Medical Foundation – at 544-5545. VIA will assess needs and connect victims with the services and resources available locally.

Healthy Foot Month continues through September at Sopris Chiropractic. Dr. Tesoro will perform free foot, knee and hip evaluations, as well as orthotic evaluations, gait analysis, pedograph prints, and will answer questions about foot care and foot wear. Call 927-9204.
