Rifle High School is looking to fill the following coaching openings: assistant football coach, head cross country coach, head track and field coach, assistant girls basketball coach and assistant boys basketball coach.

A girls fastpitch softball clinic is slated for June 6-8 at Deerfield Park (Taughenbaugh Field) in Rifle.
Session 1 is geared toward players 8 to 11 years old and runs from 8-9:30 a.m. Session 2 is for 12- to 15-year-old players and runs from 9:30-11 a.m.
The clinic costs $30.

The Town of Carbondale Recreation Department has a new website with online registration options.
Carbondale Recreation is starting all summer youth programs on Monday. Visit http://www.carbondalerec.com for online registration.
Classes starting next week: swim lessons, youth climbing class, Camp Bonedale climbing club for teens, Start Smart baseball and soccer, T-ball, skateboard lessons, the first hike in a hiking series and a special Friday Outdoor Club road trip.
Programs have limited space and a first-come, first-served policy.
Roan Cliff Chaos is scheduled for June 11-12 north of Rifle on the Bureau of Land Management’s JQS trail and Hubbard Mesa area. This BLM-permitted race series is on desert trails with many desert hazards.
The cross-country race takes place on a six-mile loop. Beginners race one loop. Sport racers complete two laps and expert racers tackle four laps.
This course features a couple of tough climbs and some downhills to keep the chaos factor up.
The cross-country race is slated for Saturday, June 11, at 8:30 a.m. Sunday is reserved for a hill climb up the JQS road to the top of the Roan Plateau. Sunday racing starts at 8 a.m. and the course features 2,600 vertical feet of elevation gain in eight miles.
