The Cheatin’ Woodchuck Chase, a five-mile or 2.3-mile fun run/walk through the White River National Forest and Rifle Mountain Park, is scheduled for Saturday.

Fruit, muffins and juice will be served at the finish line and T-shirts will be awarded to all participants.

Registration begins at the Rifle Falls Fish Hatchery parking lot at 7:15 a.m. The bus leaves for the starting lines at 8:10 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. The cost is $20.

Rifle High School is holding a football camp for students of all ages Aug. 8-11 at Bears Stadium.

Registration will be the first day of camp at the football field.

Kindergarteners through sixth-graders meet Aug. 8-11 from 5-6:30 p.m. and seventh- through 12th-graders will meet from 6:30-8 p.m.

Registration is $25 per athlete or $50 for families with more than one athlete. Participants will receive a T-shirt, with awards handed out daily.

The Three Rivers High School Football Association is looking for officials. Prospects will be trained and a time commitment is required.

Hands-on training is every Wednesday night at either Glenwood Springs High School or Gypsum Town Hall. Officials will start out with sub-varsity games until proficiency is achieved.

Officials from Rifle to Glenwood, from Eagle to Vail and from Carbondale to Aspen are needed.

Glenwood Springs Soccer Club is accepting registrations for a youth soccer camp Aug. 8-12. The camp, with guest coaches from Arsenal Youth Soccer, will be held at the Glenwood Park soccer field from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day.

Registration for players 8 to 14 years old is $125. There is also a half-day option for players 4-8 for $85 from 9 a.m.-noon.

Glenwood Springs High School is holding its fall sports meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 6 p.m. in the school’s Jeannie Miller Theater. Teams will branch off into individual meetings as the night wears on.

Parents can sign their student-athletes up online at rfsd.org under the athletics tab beginning Aug. 9.
