New Castle Family Fitness and Sports Authority will offer a Titleist Performance Institute Golf Clinic on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Sports Authority in Glenwood.
Nate Rand, a TPI certified trainer, will host a clinic to discuss and demonstrate the benefits of this golf training program.
Rand and the Titleist Performance Institute are currently featured in the latest issue of Golf Magazine. The clinic is free and there will be prizes and giveaways.

The Micro Plastics New Castle 5v5 Soccer Shootout is Aug. 20 at VIX Ranch Park in New Castle.
The tournament, which costs $125 per team, is for players U8 on up to adult. There is a roster limit of eight players per team.
Register online at http://www.newcastlecolorado.org/recreation or stop by the New Castle Community Center for a mail-in registration packet. The registration deadline is Aug. 12.
Rifle High School is holding a football camp for students of all ages Aug. 8-11 at Bears Stadium.
Registration will be the first day of camp at the football field.
Kindergarteners through sixth-graders meet Aug. 8-11 from 5-6:30 p.m. and seventh- through 12th-graders will meet from 6:30-8 p.m.
Registration is $25 per athlete or $50 for families with more than one athlete. Participants will receive a T-shirt, with awards handed out daily.

The Three Rivers High School Football Association is looking for officials. Prospects will be trained and a time commitment is required.
Hands-on training is every Wednesday night at either Glenwood Springs High School or Gypsum Town Hall. Officials will start out with sub-varsity games until proficiency is achieved.
Officials from Rifle to Glenwood, from Eagle to Vail and from Carbondale to Aspen are needed.

Grand River Hospital District is offering one more opportunity for free sports physicals to all student-athletes in the Garfield Re-2 School District and Garfield School District 16 systems.
Physicals will be given on Wednesday, Aug. 10, from 2-5:30 p.m. at the Grand River Student Health Center in Parachute (100 E. Second St.). Your child must have a completely signed and filled-out physical form before coming to the clinic.
Forms are available at any Grand River clinic, through your school’s athletic personnel or online at http://www.grhd.org.
Your child must wear shorts and athletic shoes. All physicals are done on a first-come, first-served basis.
