The 25th annual Turkey Day 5K is set for Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 24) at 10 a.m. Race-day registration runs from 9-10 a.m. at Glenwood Springs Golf Club, site of the race. The cost is $5.
Preregister at Independence Run and Hike in Carbondale. The race benefits the Carbondale Community School.

The Reel Rock Film Tour comes to Glenwood Springs on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Glenwood Springs High School auditorium. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for students.
The film night is a fundraiser for the Glenwood Springs High School climbing program and features a silent auction and a raffle with products from a variety of outdoor businesses.
Sender Films and Big UP Productions are bringing audiences several climbing flicks for the sixth annual Reel Rock Film Tour.
Some of the climbing stories chronicled include: the legendary race for The Nose speed record; a 9-year-old bouldering prodigy; Tommy Caldwell’s efforts on the hardest big wall free climb; a crazed high-lining champion; the most insane ice climbing action ever.

Defiance Volleyball Club will be having tryouts for all ages today at Glenwood Springs Middle School.
Middle school ages will try out from 6-7 p.m. and high school ages from 7-8:30 p.m. Parent informational meetings will take place during the tryout times.
All high school-aged players must be registered with USA Volleyball before participation is allowed. Bring proof of registration to tryouts.
Practice times for the upcoming season will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at GSMS. Middle school fees for the season will be $400, and high school fees will be $900.

The Western Colorado Volleyball Club will be holding a middle school volleyball clinic for players 10 to 14 years old on Sunday, Nov. 20, from 2-5 p.m.
The WCVBC clinic will focus on fundamental skills, including passing, serving and hitting. Sessions will be held at Student Recreation Center of Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction.
