Valley View Hospital Foundation will hold Rally the Valley, a community-wide fundraiser event, on Saturday, Oct. 13, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Sayre Park in Glenwood Springs.
Rally the Valley will support integrative therapy treatments for patients at the Calaway + Young Cancer Center.
“Science and medicine can cure cancer. Radiation, chemotherapy and surgery can treat the disease. But, healing a person from head to toe takes more,” said Stacey Gavrell, executive director of the Valley View Hospital Foundation, the fundraising arm of the hospital. “It requires humanized treatment, personalized care and demystification of the journey that is cancer. It requires a comprehensive approach that not only treats the cancer, but also addresses the mind and spirit.”
There are multiple ways to Rally.
Register as an individual, a child or a team for the 24.5-mile bike ride or the 5K walk – each with rewards for raising additional funds. There will also be a fun-spirited, short Peyton’s Parade for kids under the age of 13.
You can also sponsor the event or a participant and attend the lunch and party at Sayre Park.
Additional individual or team fundraising efforts come with rewards such as a Rally logo bike jersey, ball cap, socks or a sponsor goodie bag.
