The Day of Infamy Snowshoe Race at Sunlight Mountain Resort, originally scheduled for Dec. 9, has been postponed to Sunday, Jan. 6, because of a lack of snow.

The Junior Titans Ballers Camp, a winter basketball camp, is slated for Jan. 2-5 at Coal Ridge High School.
All boys and girls in the third through eighth grades are eligible to sign up. The camp will run from 8-10 a.m. each day. T-shirts and snacks are provided.

The New Castle Recreation Department has released its winter activity guide, which features a variety of programs for youth and adults.
New youth programs this winter include: Slapshot Floor Hockey and Lil’ Kickers Futsal for children 5 to 8 years old, Spike It Volleyball for ages 8-14 and the Trompin’ Tots Spring Into Action program for ages 1-4.
New programs for adults include a 4-on-4 adult basketball league, a pickleball clinic, information on the Snow Lover’s Club and the Winter Blast Quads Volleyball Tournament.
Final registration for boys third- through sixth-grade basketball and the popular Tuesday Adult Mixed Quads Volleyball League is also being accepted.

The Team Sopris swim team, which is based out of Glenwood Springs, is seeking an energetic assistant coach to help with its year-round program.
Applicants must have a swimming background and be willing to work afternoons, weeknights and the occasional weekends.

Burning Mountain Bowl in New Castle is offering a variety of different league options beginning in the coming months:
• Bad Bowlers League 2 begins Monday, Dec. 10. The league will run for eight weeks.
• The Tuesday night mixed league’s second session will begin Tuesday, Jan. 1. Sign up your team by Dec. 28.
• The Wednesday night men’s league (four-man teams) will begin Wednesday, Jan. 9. An organizational meeting will be held on Jan. 2.
• The Thursday night city/county/government team building league will begin Dec. 13. Sign-up night is Dec. 6. The league will run eight weeks.
• The Thursday afternoon mixed league is always accepting bowlers. The league start time is 1 p.m.
The Roaring Fork Wrestling Club is new to the valley. The club is open to wrestlers of all skill levels from 5 to 18 years old.
Coaches Jason Gleasman, PJ Bory, Ryan Bradley and Thaddeus Eshelman bring a wealth of experience to the club. Gleasman is a two-time world champion, seven-time national champion and a 1996 Olympian. Bory was an NCAA Tournament qualifier and an Atlantic Coast Conference champion.
Fundraising opportunities will be available to help cover the cost for any and all athletes. The cost for the season is $200.

Over 75,000 hikers visited Hanging Lake during this year’s peak season. Via signage, the city hopes to point more of those hikers also in the direction of downtown Glenwood Springs.
