Three youth hockey teams from Pueblo will descend on Glenwood Springs for a busy weekend on the ice.

The action begins this afternoon at 1:45 p.m. as the Glenwood Spring Youth Hockey Association’s Pee Wee B team (U12) takes on Pueblo. Glenwood’s Midget Major A team (U18) plays at 3:15 p.m., while its Bantam B squad (U14) takes the ice at 7:45 p.m.

On Sunday, Glenwood’s Pee Wee B team plays at 7:15 a.m. and the Midget Major A team plays at 10:15 a.m.

All games are at the Glenwood Springs Community Center ice rink and are free and open to the public.

Glenwood’s Midget Minor A team will be on the road for the 24th annual Slapshot Tournament in Littleton throughout the weekend and the Mites (U8) will be participating in the Aspen Mite Jamboree on Sunday.

Three Rivers Little League will soon be conducting 2010 registration for youth baseball (8- to 14-year-olds) and girls youth softball (9- to 14-year-olds).

Register online at eteamz.com/trll (go to handouts for the proper forms) or attend one of the following sessions to sign up in person:

• Feb. 8-10, 5-7 p.m., Glenwood Springs Elementary School lobby

• Feb. 8-10, 5-7 p.m., Roaring Fork High School lobby

• Feb. 2-10, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Basalt Middle School lobby

• Feb. 2-10, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Aspen Middle School lobby

The fee is $150 at the time of registration and you’ll need a copy of your birth certificate at the time of registration. Contact Three Rivers Little League President Paul Burbidge at 947-1101 with any questions.

The second 15-week session league bowling at Burning Mountain Bowl in New Castle will begin soon.

There are currently openings in Monday’s and Friday’s mixed leagues. Whether you have a full team or you are a single needing to be placed on a team, Burning Mountain Bowl has a spot open.

Burning Mountain Bowl is also offering youth league play every Saturday morning at 10 a.m. It’s open to all youths and is coached by professional bowler Shane McCrary.

Burning Mountain Bowl is installing a state-of-the-art scoring system in order to keep up with the newest technological advances in its industry.
