2 missing Colorado men found in truck crash 6 days later
CANON CITY — Two Colorado men who were reported missing after they failed to return from a trip to a historic mining town were found six days later in a pickup truck in a ravine — one of them dead of crash injuries, the other seriously injured.
Fremont County Coroner Carlette Brocious says the truck ran off U.S. Highway 50 and into the ravine about five miles west of Canon City in southern Colorado on Oct 11. A highway worker spotted the pickup Thursday.
The Canon City Daily Record reports 50-year-old Ronald Lee Mohr, of Silver Cliff, died of his injuries, and his passenger, 36-year-old Richard William Koester, of Westcliffe, was rescued and hospitalized with serious injuries.
The men were reported missing when they didn’t return from a trip to Cripple Creek.
