Amendment 66 loses, Glenwood fire mill levy passing, Carbondale fire tax failing
The Associated Press has called the races for Colorado’s two statewide ballot issues. With more than 65 percent of precincts reporting, the AP reports that Amendment 66 received about 65 percent no votes and 35 percent yes votes. Amendment 66 would have raised the state income tax rate to provide more funds for K-12 education.
Proposition AA, which will impose two taxes totalling 25 percent on legalized recreational marijuana, passed by an almost identical margin, 66 percent for and 34 percent against.
