Area government offices closed for Thankgiving holiday
Garfield County and area municipal government offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, and many will be closed on Friday, as well.
All Glenwood Springs administrative offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday and will reopen on Monday, according to a city news release.
The Glenwood Community Center and South Canyon Landfill will both be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but will be open on Friday. The Community Center opens at 8 a.m. Friday and the Landfill at 8:30 a.m.
City emergency services, including police and fire, remain on duty.
In addition, all Garfield County operations that serve the community in emergency or 24-hour capacities will remain in operation as needed, according to a county press release. However, administrative offices will be closed.
The Garfield County Landfill near Rifle will also be closed Thursday and Friday, and will reopen Saturday. The Rifle Garfield County Airport will be open for general aviation, although the airport’s administrative offices will be closed.
In addition, city of Glenwood Springs and Rifle offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Normal business hours will resume on Monday.
State and federal offices were to be closed Thursday, but open for business on Friday.
