Body found in Collbran was missing Berthoud teen

Authorities have confirmed that a body found in western Colorado last week was that of a missing woman from Berthoud.

The body of 18-year-old Ashley Doolittle was found Friday in Collbran in the pickup truck of her ex-boyfriend, 18-year-old Tanner Flores of Berthoud. The Larimer County coroner said Sunday that her death was a homicide and that she died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Flores was being held in the Mesa County jail pending transfer to Larimer County.

Doolittle was reported missing Thursday. Investigators said her family told them that she recently ended a yearlong relationship with Flores and he was distraught over the breakup.
