Body found in Crystal River, foul play not suspected
Carbondale Police said Friday that a body found in the Crystal River on Thursday was that of a 71-year-old man reported missing from his River Valley Ranch home around noon.
Rifle Police Department furnished a tracking dog for the search, and Garfield County Search and Rescue helped recover the body from the river just south of North Bridge Drive.
The Garfield County coroner is investigating the death, but police said it does not appear to be suspicious in nature. The name of the deceased has not been released pending the completion of the investigation.
